Dark, Dramatic, and Full of Character

Eco-tanned in small batches using tree bark at our Skye tannery, the Hebridean rug embodies the rich heritage of Scottish crofting.

Sourced from Dun Flashadder Croft the Isle of Skye, just a few miles from our tannery, it offers complete traceability and authenticity.

Hebridean wool is naturally resilient, featuring a deep, fluffy pile that provides a substantial feel underfoot. It makes a striking addition by the fire, next to the bed, or draped over a chair, serving as an instant conversation starter.

Each rug is unique, showcasing natural variations in shape, wool length, and markings. The colouring ranges from rich brown to deep black, ensuring that no two pieces are ever identical.

As with all sheepskins, sizes vary as nature intended, but you can generally expect dimensions of approximately 90 –100 cm in length and 60–70 cm at the widest point.

This rug is part of our Mimosa Collection, which features Scottish and rare British sheepskins hand-tanned in limited editions using mimosa (tree bark) /tanning. This process results in beautifully soft, high-quality leather with a more environmentally conscious finish.

About the Breed

Hebridean sheep are one of Scotland’s historic native breeds, shaped by centuries of adaptation to a harsher climate. Once considered at risk, they have made a remarkable comeback in the Highlands and Islands, where they are raised in harmony with the local environment.

Our Mimosa sheepskins are washable with care. Please brush regularly to keep your fleece looking good for longer.

Dispatch time: orders are usually dispatched within 2 working days of receiving your order.

Made to order items: estimated dispatch times are indicated on individual product pages.

Delivery: UK orders are sent via 48hr tracked delivery services (Royal Mail or ParcelForce)

International Shipping

• Delivery times: EU and North American orders should take 7 to 14 working days and further afield to within 7 to 21 working days. If you require more information please contact us.
• Shipping costs: International Shipping is calculated at checkout when you enter the delivery address. 
• Duties and tariffs: US orders are now being sent duty paid. EU duty paid options are available at checkout. Other orders are liable to in-country charges on arrival. Please look out for DHL emails.

UK customers:

Exchanges and returns can be made within 30 days of receipt of the goods, without affecting your statutory rights. To request a return or exchange, please return the (unworn/unused) product using the returns form provided in your parcel to our Skyeskyns Waternish address. The original postage fee will be deducted from the refund issued, except in instances where the item is faulty, defective or sent in error.

Exchanged products are sent out to you free of charge.
