A Highland croft committed to rare breed preservation
Tigh Na Allt
Tigh Na Allt Flock was established in 2019 on the shores of Lochbroom, near Ullapool in North West Scotland.
Tigh Na Allt prioritise the breeding of North Ronaldsay Sheep, these being on the priority section of the RBST watchlist, although they do also farm Soay and Shetland.
They love the native sheep breeds for the variety in the colour of their fleeces, their friendly temperament and of course, the flavour of their meat - which they are able to partially replicate to those bred on North Ronaldsay, in that their land touches the shores of Lochbroom giving the sheep access to seaweed as part of their diet.
Tigh Na Allt actively try to promote the benefits of keeping North Ronaldsay sheep and Anthony the crofter is currently elected to the council of the North Ronaldsay Sheep Fellowship.
