Skyeskyns, Waternish's 5* visitor attraction, is looking for people to join our team. The role involves telling our visitors the story of leather in our working tannery, working in our busy showroom and supporting our thriving mail order business. You will need to enjoy working with people, get on well with a small but growing team and be flexible because no 2 days are the same. Besides our skins we make an increasing range of products and sell a range of clothing and accessories based on a sheep and wool based theme. we also have our pop-up Yurt for tea coffee cake and soup, so if you have a passion for coffee there is the opportunity to support the team there and occasionally the team in shop in Portree. Skyeskyns is open 7 days a week all year and are an accredited Scottish Living Wage employer we offer all our staff flexible hours to suit over the 7 days.

Join the Yurt Team
YURTea&Coffee at Skyeskyns are looking for one or more part-time team members to join our small and friendly team this 2022 season. Famous for our warm welcome, great coffee and delicious home baking, the yurt is a sociable and lovely space to work in.
This is a seasonal position from early April until early Oct with induction training provided at the end of March.
We can provide set or flexible hours depending on your availability and additional hours are often available in other departments if that is required. Some degree of flexibility is required to help cover holiday periods or absences where possible.
For the right person, additional work in other areas of Skyeskyns may be available.
You’ll learn how to make delicious coffee, service quality products and provide consistently great service as well keeping the yurt and storage areas clean, safe and tidy.
- The ideal candidate will be reliable and able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment both alone and as part of a small team.
- The ability to prioritise and manage tasks effectively and serve our customers a great product in a positive, organised and friendly manner is required.
- Although some experience in hospitality and catering would be beneficial, this is not essential as we can provide full training.
