Wild and Rare
An organic South Wales croft keeping rare breeds
Simon and Sarah Greenhalgh run a 65 acres farm with a mixture of woodland, rush fields and clover rich meadows in Llandeilo.
They count themselves to be so very lucky to live in & be surrounded by some of the most magical scenery in South Wales punctuated by green hills topped with wonderful ruined castles.
On the farm no fertilizers have been used for over 2 decades! They meet the criteria for organic certification although haven’t applied. The welfare of our animals is absolutely our first priority. As they are born on our farm we know them their whole lives.
The main flock at Wild and Rare are Torwen Badgerface Welsh Sheep. These are listed as ‘At Risk’ by the Rare Breeds Trust Society.
Why we love it
- Rare breed farming.
- An organic approach to farming.
- Stunning sheepskins bred in tune with nature.
