Welcome to Skyeskyns
“40 years ago Clive and Lydia, my parents, were looking out across the panoramic views here in Skye when they had the idea to find a way to make use of sheepskins that were being wasted locally. Since then we have grown into tanners, makers and suppliers of luxurious sheepskins, home accessories and sustainably-made clothing.
Waternish, the heart of the business, is where our beautiful showroom and tannery are based. We love to offer visitors the chance to witness craftsmanship and hear our story; our tannery is a renowned 5* visitor attraction.
Over the years and with our ethos of ‘treading lightly’ and care for this environment guiding our journey, we have expanded our wee business to include a stylish boutique in Portree, a seasonal pop-up yurt café with a view and an online business which delivers to our many long-standing customers all over the world.
