Merino Quad Sheepskin Rug 185x105cms
Skyeskyns Merino Quad Sheepskin rugs are very popular with customers looking for a traditional look.
The Merino is an ancient breed, found all over the world due to its remarkable versatility. It is one of the toughest breeds, built to survive extreme heat and cold. The Merino sheep has evolved to produce a super lightweight fleece which keeps the animal cool in summer. In harsher weather, it will grow a dense layer of extra thick wool to protect it in low temperatures. These properties are passed on to you, keeping you cosy in the winter months and cool the summer.
Placed on stone or wooden floors, beside your bed and even in a bathroom, they are both stylish and practical. As their name suggests, Merino Quad rugs are made from four similar sized lambskins sewn together to retain a natural shape around the periphery. The colour is natural and may vary slightly. A Quad rug will add a touch of beauty to any room in your home, and is particularly popular with children.
Care: machine wash wool cycle at 30’c with our Woolly Wash. Comb back to perfection when dry with our Slicker Brush. Also see details of our platinum and gold refurbishment service.
To keep your sheepskin looking as good as the day you bought it, restore the texture of the wool from time to time using a metal brush or comb. On the back of each sheepskin, you will find a stamp detailing whether the fleece is washable or dry clean only. For a spot clean or refresh, use a damp cloth and our Woolly Fresh Spray. Use the latter sparingly.
You can hand wash or machine wash your fleece on a wool cycle at 30 degrees Celsius with a wool-specific soap or our Woolly Wash. Dry in the shade and do not expose the leather to heat. When dry, shake vigorously and rejuvenate the pile using a brush.
Your rug should be brushed regularly to keep the fleece in good condition, this is especially important if you have a longer staple rug. If you do spill something on the rug it can be spot washed, taking care not to wet the leather, and then dried slowly. Talk to a reputable dry cleaner, who will have experience of leather and fleeces.
