YURTea&coffee Skyeskyns pop-up tea tent has been here on site since Easter.  With the planning of this venture in the pipe-line for a while the team are delighted with this new vibrant aspect of the business.  A real buzz of activity and excitement has been felt since opening the doors for custom.  The focus for the first year of business is on making really good coffee using freshly ground beans.  Training and tasting sessions with local expert advice have helped along the way to perfecting the craft.  In fact tapping into the power of local expertise is something we have really tried to do with the venture by employing fabulous highland bakers to create the highest quality sponges, cakes, bakes and scones for daily sale. YURTea&coffee has grown Skyeskyns as an ultimate family business, Jessica second generation director and her partner Ben worked hard to make their design ideas a reality.  Bringing in local tradesmen and friends to make this completely unique space.  The design concept epitomises innovation by using polished OSB (Oriented strand board) wood with Eames styled chairs and stools, of course covered using Skyeskyns very own sheepskin!  The look and feel is topped off with a multi-burner stove often wafting the smell of locally cut peat. It has been refreshing to see so many returning local visitors too.  In true Skyeskyns ethos we have seen multiple generations of the same families enjoying fabulous local produce whilst sitting on lambskin from the surrounding area, listening to folk music composed down the road!   We have started as we mean to go on at YURTea&coffee by hiring out during the evening for local projects and groups, the first of which we welcomed in June.  In order to test the evening acoustics a staff BBQ has been held with the MacLOUD drummers and plenty of Pimms, not to mention a lovely speech followed by ribbon cutting by founding director Lydia.
